The WSR-88D is in the process of being updated with the new ORPG. This is the culmination of tens of thousands of developmental and deployment staff hours and millions of dollars in development and hardware acquisition costs. ORPG has been tested and is now being fielded. This paper addresses experiences during testing, assembly and initial fielding of the ORPG. The paper will include details of field use of ORPG after initial deployment. The paper further will cover the completion of ORPG deployment and expected WSR-88D changes during and post ORPG deployment that will take advantage of this new technology.
