Cooperating Network of Community Data Servers as Prelude to THREDDS
Tom Yoksas, UCAR, Boulder, CO
Over the past three years, a network of data servers targeted for the Unidata education and research community has been jointly developed by the Unidata Program Center (UPC) and several university participants. This network provides McIDAS ADDE-enabled applications remote access to datasets that are typically too voluminous to deliver to end users by the Unidata Internet Data Distribution (IDD) system. This poster session will chronicle the development of the network and its relationship to the UPC THREDDS initiative; present plans for its expansion; and demonstrate its use through live access to a variety of datasets hosted on the network's servers.
