Validation of the AIRS/AMSU on the AQUA satellite

The AIRS instrument was launched May 4th, 2002, on the AQUA satellite. We are performing validation and tuning coefficients for the instrument. We will present results giving comparisons with truth, such as radiosondes and aircraft reports, and evulations of insturment chracterisitics such as the presence or absence of polarization effects with scan angle. We will also present the results of the tuning required to remove biases from the retrieved data.
