A Quick Deployment Airfield Automated Weather Display System

This paper describes the design of a quick deployment Airfield Weather Display System. The paper describes the design details and the integration of the Weather Sensors, the RF data link, the Server, the Displays, and the Remote Maintenance Monitoring capabilities of the System. Key features include: quick deployment, COTS components, data path redundancies, data quality checks, and the using of existing server and PC hardware. The paper concludes with a discussion of the AAWDS modularity and expandability.
