A network message forwarder for the NEXRAD RPG

The network layout of the NEXRAD system includes a single point of contact to the Radar Data Acquisition (RDA) computer. Many users are interested in acquiring NEXRAD level 2 data directly from the RDA. An application has been developed that connects directly to the RDA and forwards NEXRAD messages to many users. The application maintains a single point of control with the Radar Product Generator (RPG) and operates transparently using the existing NEXRAD Message Protocol and Atlas Gateway control and status protocol. The application uses standard TCP/IP network protocols to forward the NEXRAD messages and includes a user interface allowing operators to monitor users and status.
