The Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) has a long history of supporting the Direct Broadcast (DB) community for various sensors, recently with the NOAA-supported Community Satellite Processing Package (CSPP) for polar orbiter and geostationary missions.
CSPP support for GOES-R series geophysical products is provided by the CSPP GEO project, which delivers the NOAA STAR Algorithm Integration Team (AIT) Framework as a DB capable package for ABI. This package runs reference implementations of the GOES-R Level 2 algorithms, primarily imagery and clouds. This poster will give an update on the project and the latest Version 2 release, which introduces Derived Motion Winds, Low Cloud and Fog, various science upgrades, and GOES-17/18 support for a subset of Level-2 products. Also introduced is Derived Motion Winds support for Himawari-9.
