Weather support system for Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) on is developed based on enterprise integrated aviation weather system (eIAWS®) and aims at improving the overall efficiency of air traffic system. The system includes a short-term severe weather nowcasting module, imNOWCASTERTM, a Regional Rapid Refresh data assimilation and numerical model forecast (NWP) module (R3R) and Decision Support Tools module (DST). The weather-related products from the three modules is used to support CDM. Nowcasting module provide a 2-hour severe weather forecast every 10 minutes using weather radar reflectivity mosaic and satellite observation. The R3R module provide an 8-hour forecast hourly. In this module, radar, satellite, METAR, AMDAR, sounding and other available meteorological observation are assimilated every hour to initialize NWP with the latest atmospheric condition. DST module combines the weather-related product from nowcasting and R3R output and generates air traffic warning information. The above three modules provide the full meteorological support for CDM in air traffic control. The detail of the system will be reported in conference.
