Duration and density of precipitation measurement enable detailed analysis of precipitation conditions in city of Prague from a view of its long-term regime. But such analysis related to population growth of Prague has not been done so far. In this paper we present results of our study taking into account complex influence of weather situation in different seasons, annual course, geography of the city including its growth (size and population) and climate change. Comparison with precipitation data records of surrounding stations is provided. The differences of selected characteristics between urban and surrounding stations with respect to possible influence of the city are discussed, too.
