The WRF Developmental Testbed Center (DTC) is a facility where the Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP) research and operational communities interact to accelerate the testing and evaluation of new models and techniques for research applications and operational implementation. Since its inception in 2003, the DTC has pursued a variety of avenues directed at developing a closer relationship between the operational and research NWP communities. This presentation will briefly summarize the DTC accomplishments, focusing on the impacts of these activities on the research and operational communities and how the community can utilize the DTC as a resource. The presentation will also briefly describe the new capabilities the DTC is planning to add over the next five years.
