In recent years, climate change has become as much political science as physical science! In that light, many of our viewers believe that there is a great deal of controversy and debate on the subject.

As most us know, in the strict world of truly peer reviewed science, the degree of controversy is not as great as some would believe.

It is a challenge to try to educate our viewers about the impact of Global Warming. In a sense, our true job as broadcast meteorologists is to be "the nice friendly person that tells you what to expect tomorrow" - not to be a political "lightning rod".

We get just a couple of minutes to pack our weather-casts with the basic weather and forecast, how can we add climate education?

I have developed some techniques to "gently" provide important information about global warming to my viewers. Although I still get push-back from vocal skeptics and occasionally from management, I think these methods may be useful for other weather-casters.

I will show samples of my educational segments that fit neatly into a 3 minute weather segment and give examples of climate change presentation ideas for public speaking engagements.
