METEOROLOGY AT SOUTHSIDE VIRGINIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

Plans are underway at Southside Virginia Community College, Keysville to offer NAS 125 “Meteorology – An Introduction to Atmospheric Science” in Spring 2004. This course will satisfy the General Education requirement of science with a lab.
During the Fall ’03, we have received and reviewed the AMS online weather studies for year 2003 – 2004. We are planning to use the online weather studies web site as a supplement to our traditional textbook based course. We are also planning to use Blackboard as part of the instruction to assign some online lab work in which the online weather studies concepts will be implemented. Depending on student interest, we may offer this course again during the 2004 - 2005 academic year.
