Multi-Year Wind Measurement by GLOW at Howard University Beltsville Research Center—Part I System Upgrades and Validation
307-308 (Washington State Convention Center)
Huailin Chen, SSAI, Lanham, MD

To participate a multi-year wind measurement program at Horward University Beltsville Research Center, GLOW ( Goddard Lidar Observatory for Wind) underwent significant upgrades and changes. The performance of the new GLOW system was validated during a 10 day intercomparison campaign from March 21-31, 2009 at the Beltsville Research Center. The 33 minutes averaged GLOW wind measurement is in good agreement with radiosonde result above 1.5km in clear air region.
