The purpose of this paper is to know the distribution of maximum wind potential damage caused by typhoon maemi for a detached house which is located at Si, Gun, Gu in Gyeongnam province. For this, Wind Field Module of PHRLM(2003) in Florida was used. We used Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System (RDAPS) at the height of 700hPa level, typhoon data such as latitude and longitude of typhoon center, central pressure, and radius of maximum wind speed (RMW), roughness length of surface, and the number of a detached house in Gyeongnam province, Korea. As a result, peak 3-second gust on the surface was high at Gimhae city and southern coastal area of Gyeongnam province. Roughness length on the surface was high at Gimhae city and inland area of Gyeongnam district. The highest area of wind potential damage was Gimhae. Also, wind potential damage was sensitive about the surface roughness length.

Key words: Maximum wind potential damage, a detached house, radius of maximum wind speed, roughness length, 3-second gust
