Rachel Hogan Carr, Nurture Nature Center, Easton, Pennsylvania; and B. E. Montz and S. Hoekstra

The Nurture Nature Center in Easton, Pennsylvania is collaborating with researchers from East Carolina University on a project that aims to better understand how residents in the Delaware River Basin use and understand National Weather Service online tools to prepare for risks associated with flooding. An additional goal of the project is to motivate residents to better prepare for floods and respond to flood warnings. Findings from this research will allow for the development of strategies to improve online flood forecasting tools. The Nurture Nature Center will also partner with the NWS Middle Atlantic River Forecast Center and the NWS Weather Forecast Offices in Mt. Holly, New Jersey, and Binghamton, New York.
