The purpose of this study is to provide real time CrIS-track Infrared Sounder (CrIS) Outgoing Longwave Radiation (OLR) using the hyperspectral infrared sounder radiance measurements. Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) is used as the third transfer instrument. CrIS OLR is estimated as weighted linear combination of 17 pseudo channel CrIS radiances. We validate CrIS OLR by using available CERES NPP OLR observations over 1 degree X 1 degree global grids, and we also validate it against CrIS and Aqua OLR Simultaneous Nadir Overpass (SNO) observations. Further validation will be focused on the time series of CrIS OLR over a long time period, and over the specific regions. The full spectral resolution CrIS OLR will be developed.
