An evaluation of the ERDC CRREL (US Army Engineering Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory) land surface model FASST (Fast All-season Soil STrength) has been conducted versus various in situ/measurement datasets as well as collocated results from simulations conducted with the Noah land surface model. Results of this evaluation are presented as well as commentary on similarities and differences in performance and the factors driving such differences and similarities and implications thereof.
