In computing environments where large amounts of on-line storage are scarce, remote disk systems or near-line tape systems may help bridge the gap between big data retention and budget-friendly systems. Using the Oklahoma PetaStore as a working example, we explore useful and productive methods to integrate otherwise inconvenient technology into production workflows.
