There are about 200 employees in National Climate Centre (NCC), CMA, China, which means here are up to hundreds of end-computers running for operations. It is becoming a big  challenge for the daily maintenance. With the development and mature of the computer virtualization technology, we launched a project using Huawei FusionCloud Desktop Solution to deploy all the operational client systems on Virtual Desktop and to gradually substitute the current personal computers(PCs) in NCC. The project was started in March of 2016 and the deployment was done by the end of June. The application is designed to supports up to 200-500 virtual desktops using 8-16 physical computer servers,to enable end users to access “virtual PCs” using thin clients (TCs),ordinary PCs and even mobile devices, and allow to maintain information security and high service reliability. Currently, the trial operation is ongoing and the climate operational systems of NCC are deployed over the virtual desktops including Climate Interactive Plotting and Analysis System(CIPAS), CliMatE Disaster Impact Assessment System(MEDIAS),FOrecast system on Dynamical and Analogy Skills(FODAS),Multi-mOdel EnSemble(MODES),as well as some office software. The trial operation shows that  the virtual desktop application offers flexible access, highly efficient O&M, and stringent data security towards climate operation. Before the end of this paper, some main features and technical implementations and advantages were discussed in detail.
