The National Centers for Environmental Information provides access to archived climate and weather data through RESTful API's, which serve commerce, government, and academia. As the next generation of web services emerge, users can expect greater capacity and a broader scope of core supported products. Simple client applications can be written in many different languages or integrated directly into COTS products. The API provides observed and spatial information to meet business value-add objectives. Several use-cases will be demonstrated using the following surface products: Global Hourly Data, Global Historical Climatology Network – Daily, Global Summary of the Month and Year, U.S. Climate Normals and Global Marine.
