The Federation of Earth System Information Partners (ESIP) Education Committee strives to make data accessible and meaningful to educators. ESIP is a unique consortium of scientific organizations that collect, interpret, and develop applications for remotely sensed data. In 2016, ESIP Education explored the use of recreational UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles , or drones) for STEM classroom activities, after school clubs and science fair projects. This presentation will elaborate upon the exciting ESIP Education "Drones for STEM" initiative (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) including the status of a new e-book compilation of student-focused activities using recreational drones to pursue STEM investigations!
