Building a Professional Meteorology Tool for a Broad Audience

Seasonality Pro is an iOS app that uses current model data to generate customizable weather charts.  Using the wide variety of model data hosted at NCEP, Seasonality Pro provides a quick and convenient way to view the output grids from the most popular weather and wave models.  While meteorologists are accustomed to viewing scientific data in the format offered by an app like Seasonality Pro, this isn't necessarily true for the typical weather enthusiast.  During this talk I will discuss ways to broaden the appeal of a professional weather tool without giving up powerful functionality demanded by meteorologists.  I will also show some of the new features being added in Seasonality Pro to help professional users inspect model data more efficiently.
