The introduction of the GOES-R, JPSS, and other new satellite product suites into AWIPS will significantly enhance the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast and warning processes. This paper summarizes the improvements being made to support these product suites; including satellite delivery systems and networks upgrades; and AWIPS ingest and display improvements. In addition, a summary of testing activities in preparation for satellite product flow into AWIPS will be presented.
