Progress Report on the Ensemble Tool in AWIPS II

Since the last AMS Conference the Ensemble Tool in AWIPS has been refined with new features for use in situational awareness and decision support. The basic features are Spaghetti Viewer, Time Series, Distribution Viewer, and Matrix Navigator. The Spaghetti Viewer now has a contour control feature that allows the user to select/display a contour value, and change/redraw it by a chosen increment with a mouse click. This allows forecasters to mine for details in the ensemble solutions that fall between the default contour values chosen by the system. Also, graphic products calculated from the Spaghetti can now be rendered as images, which can be annotated for custom decision support products. These and other recent enhancements will be demonstrated via videos screen-captured from AWIPS.
