The TV meteorologist is a close to a climate scientist as most Americans ever get and they invite us into their living rooms. With the recent decision to leave the Paris Climate Agreement, it is more important than ever that we get the correct scientific information out to the American public. It is not too late to make the changes needed to limit the amount of warming in the next 50 to 100 years, but time is running short. In my paper, I will show some of the techniques that I use to educate the general public about the science of climate change in a non-controversial manner. I will also strive to embolden television meteorologists to discuss climate change as there are broadcasters who are averse to bringing up the topic, lest risk losing viewers.
