The International Satellite Cloud Climatology Project (ISCCP) has made significant changes to the inputs and products in preparation for the recently completed reprocessing at NOAA’s NCEI. This presentation will highlight these changes and the resulting cloud products. The reprocessed ISCCP data (ISCCP-H) is at a higher spatial resolution than previous versions (ISCCP-D) due to the use of higher resolution input data (e.g., 10 km geostationary and 4 km AVHRR data). The ISCCP cloud products have also been improved. Previously, cloud data products were the “D” family, where cloud information was provided at the satellite projection (DX), or gridded at 3-hourly intervals (D1) or averaged to monthly (D2). The ISCCP-H products provides similar levels of data, but will also include a globally gridded file near pixel resolution (10 km). Other improvements will also be described.

ISCCP-H data is now available at: https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/isccp
