Edward Waters College is a Historically Black College and University (HBCU) an elementary teacher educator and urban studies program looking to expand pre-service teacher knowledge in climate studies and generate new course offerings for students in mathematics and sciences. This poster is a discussion of the efforts to enhance pre-service teacher knowledge in climate through collaborative teaching methods from the Departments of Teacher Educator and Urban Studies and the Department of Mathematics and Sciences. Pre-service elementary school teachers often struggle with science and mathematics content as well as pedagogy especially when teaching in urban school settings. In this poster, the faculty will illustrate the challenges and successes of collaborating to enhance pre-service teaching skills.
