6.1 NASA’s Hidden to Modern Figures: Using real stories to inspire all

The film "Hidden Figures," based on the book by Margot Lee Shetterly, focuses on the stories of Katherine Johnson, Mary Jackson and Dorothy Vaughan, African-American women who were essential to the success of early spaceflight. This session will focus on NASA activities and resources that highlight NASA’s current workforce that will help educators increase STEM Equity in K-12 classrooms. Highlights will be given for weather and climate related resources, including the Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) Program's Elementary books available in different languages.
