The GOES-16 satellite is delivering unprecedented remote sensing products to monitor environmental phenomena and advance STEM education. Advances with the entire GOES-R satellite series (GOES-R, S, T, & U) readily facilitate engagement and training across multiple sectors. This presentation details efforts out of Madison Wisconsin, the birthplace of satellite meteorology, to raise awareness around GOES-R capabilities working primarily with science teachers through the GOES-R Education Proving Ground (http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/education/goesr/) at the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS). This poster presentation will highlight free resources available for educators and recap the Teacher Workshop at the 2016 GOES-R launch and the August 2017 GOES-S Teacher Workshop on the Lockheed Martin Littleton Colorado campus.
