RealEarthTM is a freely distributed VM-based solution for geographic and meteorological data management and visualization. Geolocated imagery and shape data can be layered, animated, and probed in a web browser or native mobile App. A full-featured API can provide imagery for embedding, search metadata, probe by location and time, and much more. Multiple views can be linked together on the same page, and displays can be shared with remote users allowing them to follow along in real-time. Data ownership can be assigned, with an easy-to-use management interface with access to usage statistics. VMs can be linked together to form a federation of servers to spread the load.
