NOAA's Environmental Literacy Grants Program

This session will focus on NOAA's Environmental Literacy Grants program. This program began in 2005 to support environmental literacy projects that relate to NOAA's mission. Initial foci of the program included: (1) partnerships that promote systemic change in NOAA-related science education and (2) innovative presentation of NOAA science and earth observing data through educational data visualizations and other educational tools. FY 2006 funding priorities will be described and discussed in this session. Feedback will be sought from attendees regarding the structure of future funding opportunities.
