The Plymouth State College (PSC) Weather Center web page went online in April 1994. It was one of the first handful of college/university sites offering Internet access to near real-time weather information. Initially, the offerings were somewhat limited. However, through the years, the site has been constantly revised, updated and expanded to include some very popular tutorials and interactive access to nearly all NOAAPORT data. Users can readily access and select their own options for displaying all the GINI satellite data from GOES-E and GOES-W, all 17 radar products from the 154 NEXRAD sites, most model fields, and the conventional observational data. Users can also interactively access historical datasets and similarly generate maps, charts, and text outputs. These archived data include subsets of the NCEP/NCAR Reanalysis Data upper air data (back to 1953) and radiosonde data for North America (back to 1957). A fairly complete local archive of all surface and upper air data (back to August 1988) is also being maintained. From its humble beginnings, the PSC Weather Center has evolved into one of the most complete weather portals on the Internet.
