Status of the UW-CIMSS Objective Dvorak Technique (ODT)

Quasi-operational use of the Objective Dvorak Technique (ODT) continued at the Satellite Analysis Branch and the Tropical Prediction Center during the 1999 hurricane season. A performance review of the ODT will be presented. Modifications and upgrades to the ODT algorithm will also be reported, including the development and installation of a platform-independent version for the Joint Typhoon Warning Center and Air Force Global Weather Center.
