The HEC-MetVue program, which is freely available to the public, is produced by the US Army Corps of Engineers Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC). Primary applications of HEC-MetVue include processing, visualizing, and analyzing climate products (especially precipitation, temperature, and snow) from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), and other domestic and international climate data providers. HEC-MetVue supports products that adhere to the conventions for CF (Climate and Forecast) metadata and file formats that include NetCDF and GRIB. HEC-MetVue provides a variety of features, including: dataset aggregation temporally and spatially, on-the-fly areal statistics computation, image manipulation, and animation. HEC-MetVue also provides automated data processing capabilities and integrates with HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Modeling System) and HEC-RTS (Real-Time System) software packages for hydrologic forecasting and real-time decision support. This poster session and demonstration will provide a general orientation of the HEC-MetVue program and its features.
