P1.3 The Seventh International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones

Tuesday, 17 April 2012
Heritage Ballroom (Sawgrass Marriott)
Jeffrey D. Kepert, Centre for Australian Weather and Climate Research, Melbourne, VIC, Australia; and C. S. Velden, E. A. Ritchie, and P. Caroff

The WMO 7th IWTC was held in La Reunion, France, during November 2010. The scope of these meetings is broad – they aim to bring together forecasters and researchers to discuss all aspects of tropical cyclone science and operations, ranging from the physical sciences through to societal factors and mitigation, at scales from the mesoscale through to climate change. The workshops also aim to be broad, and invite delegates from both the developed and developing world.

This poster presentation will summarise the main outcomes and highlights of the 7th IWTC, including the main recommendations. A wealth of further information, including review reports on most aspects of tropical cyclone science, can be found on the conference website, http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/arep/wwrp/tmr/IWTC-VII.html.
