The University of Wisconsin Nonhydrostatic Modeling System (UW-NMS) was a Stream 1.5 participant in NOAA's Hurricane Forecast Improvement Project (HFIP) real-time demonstration for the 2013 north Atlantic and eastern Pacific hurricane seasons. We will summarize the development of the UW-NMS during this time, review its performance, and detail improvements planned for the 2014 season.
