GOES-16 will soon be the standard IR and visible satellite product used in most television weathercasts in the U.S. Beyond providing viewers a more detailed look at their weather, GOES-16 offers broadcast meteorologists the opportunity to share their scientific knowledge by highlighting and explaining some of smaller meteorological and non-meteorological features now detected by the high-resolution satellite. This presentation includes on-air examples that broadcast meteorologists can apply to their local market.
