The Invigoration of the Tropical Hydrological Cycle: A Demonstration of the Relevance of Some Old Webster Ideas

This talk will project on ideas of Webster 1990 that provided a review of the basis for TOGA COARE and other reasons to study the coupled ocean-atmsophere systesm. These earlier ideas will be brought back to life using new data resources not available at the time with a focus on war phases of ENSO.
