645 Introduction to Radio Frequency Spectrum Techniques, Analyses, and Processes

The purpose of this contribution is to provide an informative perspective on the national and international process of protecting and allocating radio frequency (RF) spectrum. The scope will include basic spectrum concepts such as link budgets, bandwidths, and technological operation techniques as well as further topics such as the breakdown and allocations of the RF spectrum. Interference analysis will be included as it plays a vital role in determining the efficient management and allocations of spectrum to various operating systems and services. Also, included will be a description of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) process pertaining to the satellite industry.
