Radio Frequency (RF) band sharing is a new reality for MetSat downlink receivers operating in the 1695-1710 MHz band by virtue of FCC Auction 97 and possibly others in the future. Harris has developed several novel techniques that allow MetSat downlink receiver systems to continue to receive data critical to their mission to create observations and forecasts that are essential to the protection of life and property. The techniques described include measured and simulated performance as well as the suitability of their application to user classes and systems.
