Wednesday, 10 January 2018
Exhibit Hall 3 (ACC) (Austin, Texas)
James A. Jung, Univ. of Wisconsin/CIMSS, College Park, MD; and A. Collard, K. Bathmann, A. Heidinger, D. Groff, and M. Goldberg

We will discuss the various changes made to the National Centers for Environmental Prediction's Gridpoint Statistical Interpolation software to accomodate the new Cross-track Infrared Sounder's Full Spectral Resolution data available from the Suomi NPOES Preparatory Project (NPP) satellite. Several changes were made to the BUFR table to identify the FSR data and add new capabilities. We will show results from; updating the spatial thinning routine to use Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite cloud information, computing the correlation matrix, and using a new channel selection.
