Weather support system for Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) for air traffic control is developed based on enterprise integrated aviation weather system (eIAWSTM) . The system includes short-term severe weather nowcasting module, rapid updated hourly data assimilation and numerical weather prediction (NWP) module and aviation weather product display module. The weather-related products from the three modules are used to support CDM. Nowcasting module uses radar reflectivity mosaic, satellite, lightning and NWP forecast and provide a 3-hour severe weather forecast every 5-10 minutes regarding to the reflectivity mosaic refreshing frequency. The rapid update data assimilation and NWP forecast module provide an 8-hour forecast hourly. In this module, radar, satellite, METAR, lightning, surface, wind profiler, sounding and all available meteorological observation are assimilated every hour to initialize NWP with the latest atmospheric condition. The aviation weather product display module will convert the weather-related product from nowcasting and rapid updating NWP model module to aviation weather product and quickly display in webpage. The above three modules provide the full meteorological support for CDM in air traffic control. The detail of the system will be reported at the conference.
