On June 23, 2017, powerful winds swept across the city of San Angelo. Damage surveys from the National Weather
Service confirmed that 80-90 mph winds occurred during this event. The KLST Weather team was faced with a
difficult task during this storm: delivering life-saving information without power. This presentation will explore the
methods in which the meteorologists compensated for this handicap, as well as the factors leading up to this event,
and the lessons learned to mitigate future problems.
