Room 10AB (ACC) (Austin, Texas)
John Okon, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and Oceanographer of the Navy, Stennis Space Center, MS; and D. McCarren

Navy METOC has undergone significant operational and manpower changes in the past two years. With the US focus shifting from the ongoing conflicts in Iraq/Afghanistan/Syria to the confrontational rhetoric in the Western Pacific and the growing human migration due to regional conflict and changing climate, our efforts are changing too. The Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command will discuss recent changes to Navy METOC highlighting current challenges and future directions for the Navy overall and Navy METOC specifically.
