Monday, 8 January 2018: 2:00 PM
Ballroom D (ACC) (Austin, Texas)
Klaus Wolter, CIRES, Univ. of Colorado Boulder, Boulder, CO

This talk gives an overview of noteworthy large-scale weather and climate events in 2017. To the extent they can be detected, these include droughts, heat- and cold waves, major tropical cyclones, extratropical storms, flooding rains, and snow storms. Where possible, these are related to the varying ENSO conditions of 2017, as well as to anthropogenic climate change.
