Room 3 (ACC) (Austin, Texas)
Adults local to the library system were provided with copies of three trade titles to read that were relevant to the three session topics. They were then encouraged to attend those sessions where the books and science were discussed in a casual and open setting. The sessions were well-attended and successful in communicating facts that are often politicized in other environments. This presentation will share observations and best practices derived from planning and executing this program which may be applied to any library seeking to engage the public on climate change and other scientific topics.
