The paper presents the initial results of research concerning operational introduction of nonstandard synoptic charts constructed on the basis of numerical model data obtained from the Polish Meteorological Service. The model forecasted data are processed and recorded in a format enabling subsequent processing by means of a PC. The newly created database is used for graphical presentations of the forecasted values of the meteorological parameters. For the operational services in meteorological bureaus, this provides forecast charts for selected periods of time of actually unavailable precision. The meteorologists are therefore equipped with spatial and temporal descriptions of the forecasted fields of meteorological parameters at the model levels and at the standard isobaric ones. The forecast charts are produced in the projection of satellite images to facilitate comprehensive analysis. Introducing them into operational practice will enable qualitatively new approach to short term regional weather forecasting.
