In the previous study, we conducted a series of numerical experiments using a high-resolution AGCM (T106-L21). All results of greenhouse-warmed climate simulations showed significant reduction (by about 20%) in global frequency of tropical cyclones (TCs), independent of cumulus parameterization and of SST spatial patterns.
In this paper, further investigation is done to find the reason of simulated reduction in TC frequency due to greenhouse warming. Changes in various large-scale fields, precipitation near TC centers, relationship with sea surface temperature and weak disturbances are analyzed. Some additional numerical experiments with same AGCM are to be done.
