The Environmental Modeling Center (EMC) has had a verification capability for many years, but access from both internal developers and outside users has been limited. However, with the help of the Developmental Testbed Center (DTC), National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) is working to install a web-based capability that will be open to users outside of the for the first time. Previous methods had used the Forecast Verification System (FVS) that was highly capable but was neither web-based nor user friendly. More recently, a Perl-based web system was put in place but this is only available for access internally. The DTC's METViewer, when installed on new servers, will allow users both inside and outside of NCEP to manipulate (i.e. select, plot, and view) all of EMC's statistical database, which contains verification statistics for a wide-range of EMC's suite of models, regional and global. Several examples of plots for each type of verification system will be presented.
