NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) is the world’s largest repository of environmental data and information. Millions of individuals, organizations, and companies in the U.S. and around the world use NCEI’s use-inspired data and information for planning, making decisions, and for building and delivering products and services. In order to establish the significant economic and societal impact of NCEI’s data to the economy, NCEI has undertaken a concerted effort to explore and engage with its customer base to determine uses of its data and portray the benefits the data and information provides to customers.

This poster demonstrates NCEI’s 3-pronged strategic approach to better understand its customer base through: 1) customer analytics, 2) use case studies and unique application stories, and 3) intentional engagement activities with the public and private sectors, stakeholders, and regional and national partners.
